1) First of all it's better to divide South African's women into 3 groups: white, coloured and black. While white and coloured share the same values and culture, black are under a sort of discrimination. 2) Black women in South African society have been discriminated since the advent of capitalism: before, they were considered equal to men and not subordinated to them. 3) Women discrimination depends on economical, ethnical, racial, age factors. Also, the racism of the educated is different from that of the uneducated because of the conciousness/unconciousness of the act. 4) The possibility to have medical help for women (particulary for aborts, which, in fact, are often done in an illegal way) is something very difficoult: there is one doctor for every 1,200 coloured and 1 for every 12,000 blacks. 5) Black women in South Africa have poorer access to property than men (due to marriage laws and laws about property).

1) White women have always been considered by men as equals and not minors. This is because of the traditional values of European culture which is present also in South African society. 2) Even if coloured women and whites share the same common cultural system, the first ones are not as liberated as the second ones in the relation with men (due to economic factor). 3) The "superiority" of white women is visible in the fact that medical services are much more accessible for them than for black women: a doctor every 330 whites and a nurse every 14.
